i received a great rejection letter today in which not only one, but two people gave me feedback in the letter. i have to say that i enjoy this level of rejection, if that makes any sense, and it probably doesn’t, but what the hell. it’s just that lately i’ve been thinking about submitting in the long run and a good rejection is almost as good as an acceptance. if someone takes the time to point out what would strengthen your piece and asks you to submit again, it means they care.
strangely, i find good rejection a kind of dialogue between editors and writers, and who doesn’t enjoy a little dialogue?
what good do you find in rejection?
