Rea Tarvydas is a short story writer who lives in Calgary, Alberta. Her short stories can be read in The New Quarterly, The Fiddlehead and Grain magazines. Her short story collection HOW TO PICK UP A MAID IN STATUE SQUARE was published by Thistledown Press in 2016.

A Humber School for Writers graduate, Rea is the 2012 recipient of The Brenda Strathern Award, curated by The Calgary Foundation.  ‘The Party Porch’ won the Little Bird Contest (2019) and was published in a chapbook. And, HOW TO PICK UP A MAID IN STATUE SQUARE was long listed for the 2017 ReLit Award.
